Mario Bellini CAB 413 Dining Chairs Set of Six, Black Leather, 1977

This iconic set of six CAB 413 dining chairs, designed by Mario Bellini for Cassina, represents a milestone in 20th-century design. Introduced in 1977, the CAB was the world’s first freestanding chair made entirely from saddle leather, conceived through Bellini’s radical idea of clothing furniture as one would dress the human body skin shaped directly over a supporting skeleton.

Each chair features hand-stitched black natural leather upholstery, tailored around an internal steel frame. The leather cover is zip-fastened along the inside of each leg, an innovative construction method that allows the material to be stretched and fitted with remarkable precision. A discreet rubber membrane beneath the seat provides additional comfort and support.
