Ilmari Tapiovaara for Laukaan Puu, coffee table, stained pine, Finland, 1950s. This pine coffee table is modest and simple in its design and therefore breaths the feeling of Nordic design. This means that it is well-constructed as can be seen in the rigid, solid dovetail wood-joints. Another typical Nordic feature is the warm, natural feeling this side table creates. This table is very versatile and was meant to be used as such, Tapiovaara created the piece for the small to average household, meaning it was meant to be used in various manners, something that saved space. It can thus be used as a bench, or table. The piece is executed pine, a material that generates its quality and expression over time. Stamped with the Laukaan Puu logo.
